Comprehensive Wellness

As a holistic health care provider, I recommend a comprehensive wellness trajectory that can be tailored specifically for you and your unique needs. This goal orientated, holistic approach to health works best when received and implemented on a consistent basis. The initial consultation typically involves diagnostic assessments and a detailed review of your health history.  Follow up appointments will monitor your progress and help you to integrate specific recommendations into your daily life. Please see below to read about services offered.

Acupuncture

In Asian medical theory electrical pathways, or meridians, are highways of communication between our bodies different systems. When there is blockage in the flow of energy, from stress, physical or emotional injury, the meridians become congested and we feel tension, pain and/or other symptoms. By removing the obstacles that impede the flow of function, a proper acupuncture treatment guides the body to repair itself.

Acupuncture is one part of a tradition within a whole person approach to medicine. There are numerous studies and thousands of years of documentation that support its' efficacy.

Through the knowledgeable insertion of needles the body can access it’s natural ability to resist infection, achieve higher degrees of function, change the states of pain, improve physical, mental, digestive energy, and experience more fluidity in one’s emotional responses to the world.

Acupuncture is a modality designed to address all aspects of health and is recognized by the World Health Organization to help with the following:

  • Pain: acute and subacute, injuries, sciatica, arthritis, and postoperative recovery
  • Eye, ear, nose, throat disorders such as sinusitis, and allergies
  • Gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel disorder, colitis, diarrhea, constipation, and gastritis

Herbal Support

Refined and documented over time, the detailed use of medicinal herbs in Asia can be traced back over 4000 years. Properly sourced, formulated and administered, herbal formulas can support your immune system, strengthen muscles and bones and stimulate the healing of damaged tissue. Herbs have been used to improve digestion, help with concentration, memory and the management of physical, emotional, and mental stress. They can also support endocrine function in situations of painful periods, irregular periods, boost fertility, and manage menopausal changes.

Asian herbal pharmacopeia include: roots, bark, leaves, flowers, seeds, and in some instances animal products. If the body is depleted from stress, age, or certain conditions, strengthening through the proper use of tonic formulas are best to replenish reserves and build vitality. For acute conditions, like bacterial or viral infections, formulas that assist the immune system are best.
