The information on this page describes the warm water therapy that I offer in the Portland OR area and Beyond. This is an inclusive, trauma informed practice. My intension is to provide a safe space for you to journey on your healing path. Since 2010, I have studied with incredible teachers from all around the world and blend the styles into my own intuitive practice. This is an exploration, an adventure and a deeply nourishing place.
For many years I have worked with non profits who support trauma survivors from war and different kinds of abuse. In addition to trauma this type of therapy can help with any physical pain.
Below are detailed descriptions of the styles that I have studied and draw from in sessions: If you click on the Title it will bring you to an original webpage.

WATSU®
WATSU® is a gentle form of body therapy performed in warm salt water that is heated to 96-98°F. Watsu principles are rooted in Eastern philosophies and Zen Shiatsu, which value body mind connection, balance and overall health.
This modality was developed by Harold Dull at the Northern California School of Shiatsu and Massage. Inspired by his Zen Shiatsu studies in Japan while floating students in warm water, Dull incorporated the Shiatsu stretches and methodologies into his own practice.
Consequently, WATSU® combines elements of massage, joint mobilization, acupressure, muscle stretching and energetic movements to free up blockage in the meridian and chakra systems. The receiver is continuously supported while being floated, cradled, stretched and gently guided into movements. The deeply relaxing effects of warm water and nurturing support allows for a bodywork with a wide range of therapeutic benefits and a potential for healing on many levels.
WATA® (Waterdance)
Waterdance technique adds elements of dance and fluidity to a session. The receiver is gently, gradually lead underwater. The interface between surface and below surface often disappears allowing for deep states of relaxation.
Waterdance was developed by Arjana Brunschwiler and Peter Aman Schroter. They have taken the principles of WATSU and extended them into an underwater meditation mediated by the breath. Waterdance movements may turn into waves, rolls, twists, extensions, inversions and quiet stillness. This work has been described as “deeply peaceful”, “where the internal spaces become larger”, where “all noise from the monkey mind quiets”.
Healing Dance®
Healing Dance was created on the premise that "movement is medicine" and clients experience the benefits of "received dance". It was developed by Alexander George in 1993.
Aquatic Integration™
"Aquatic Integration™ is a warm water, holistic therapy that encourages sensory integration through touch, communication, stillness and movement. Rooted in Watsu and neuro somatic assessment, AI bridges Eastern and Western approaches to healing and is an effective treatment for sensory neurological re-patterning, physical and emotional trauma."
